Acupuncture points are located on meridians which are channels of energy over the body. When blockages occur within these meridians people exhibit pain. The acupuncture, regulates or free flows the blockage and return the body to a balanced state. Scientific research is only just beginning to understand the mechanism behind this.
Does it hurt?
Most people experience a dull, aching sensation and only minimal pain when the needle is inserted. Once the needle is in the patient should feel no pain.
